Known human health impact? | Known References: Olfat, A., Mostaghim, T., Shahriari, S., Salehifar, M. 2024. Extraction of bioactive compounds of Hypnea flagelliformis by ultrasound-assisted extraction coupled with natural deep eutectic solvent and enzyme inhibitory activity. Algal Research, 78, 103388. Comments: The bioactive compounds extracted from of H. flagelliformis have very little toxicity against healthy human cells. The algae extract of H. flagelliformis obtained under optimal UAE conditions by ChCl-LA was able to inhibit ACE, alpha-glucosidase, and alpha-amylase enzymes and had good anti-diabetic and anti-hypertensive activity. |
Known economic impact? | Known References: Saeidnia, S., Permeh, P., Nasiri, M., Mollazadeh, K., Farahani, F. 2009. Biological activity of two red algae, Gracilaria salicornia and Hypnea flagelliformis from Persian Gulf. Pharmacognosy Research, 1(6). Comments: H. flagelliformis could be a promising source of cytotoxic components. |
Known measurable environmental impact? | Not known Comments: Not available. |
