Marine Biodiversity https://doi.org/10.1007/s12526-018-0888-3 Comments: Haliclystus tenuis (Stauromedusae) was found at Helgoland Island in 2018 (North Sea). Previously this species was known from Japan and China and it was believed to have a distribution restricted to the NW Pacific. It could have been overlooked in Europe because of its morphological similarity to native H. octoradiatus (Holst & Laakmann 2018). It is interesting to note that another species of this genus, i.e., H. salpinx, is listed in The Netherlands as NIS. |
