Pathway / Vector (?) | Level of certainty: Highly likely Pathway: Culture activities Vector: (Highly likely) Associated water & packaging material References (not structured): Lodola A, Savini D, Occhipinti-Ambrogi A (2012) First record of Tricellaria inopinata (Bryozoa:Candidae) in the harbours of La Spezia and Olbia, Western Mediterranean Sea (Italy). Marine Biodiversity Records, 5, e41 (online) Comments: The most likely vector could be the transfer from the northern Adriatic with mussels, which are reared in the numerous farms near the harbour entrance. Moreover, interviews with local mussel farmers in Olbia confirmed that the majority of mussel seeds are imported from the northern Adriatic lagoons, where T. inopinata have formed stable populations. |
