CABRAL Zootaxa 919: 1–16 (2005) Comments: It is possible that our current concept of Cirrholovenia tetranema comprises more than one biological species. Cirrholovenia tetranema is a relatively rare medusa reported from the Indo-Pacific, Mediterranean and Atlantic. Although usually based on a few specimens only, descriptions indicate a wide range of morphological variation, particularly concerning size, number of statocysts and number of marginal cirri. |
