Species | Sinelobus stanfordi | |
Date of the first record (?) | 2006 References (not structured): (2009) van Haaren, T., & Soors, J. Sinelobus stanfordi (Richardson, 1901): a new crustacean invader in Europe. Aquatic Invasions, 4(4). Gittenberger A, Rensing M, Wesdorp KH. 2017. Non-indigenous marine species in the Netherlands. Report Nr. GiMaRIS 2017_13. The Department of Nature & Biodiversity of the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality & the Office for Risk Assessment and Research of the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority. 39 pp. Comments: The taxonomic identification of the Sinelobus spp. in northern Europe is not finished and therefore the species names should be marked as "Sinelobus sp. nov." (Anja Schanz, Institut für Angewandte Ökosystemforschung (IfAÖ), Neu Brodersdorf, Germany, pers. comm.). The German Sinelobus specimens found in several North Sea ports are all Sinelobus vanhaareni, i.e., not S. stanfordi, neither Sinelobus cf. vanhaareni (Lackschewitz pers. comm.). Taxonomic analysis further revealed that there is no S. stanfordi in Europe until there is further evidence proving otherwise (van Haaren pers. comm.). Gittenberger et al 2017 confirm that this should be S. vanhaareni. |
