Recipient region (?) | Country: Denmark LME: 22. North Sea References: Jensen KR & Knudsen J (2005). A summary of alien marine benthic invertebrates in Danish waters. Oceanological and Hydrobiological Studies Vol XXXIV, Supplement 1: 137-162. References (not structured): Christian Buschbaum, Dagmar Lackschewitz, Karsten Reise. 2012. Comments: Wadden Sea |

Source region (?) | LME: 22. North Sea --> LME sub-region: North Sea |
Pathway / Vector (?) | Level of certainty: Possible Pathway: Natural spread from neighboring countries Pathway: Vessels Vector: Ballast water References (not structured): Gollasch et al. 2014 in WGITMO Report 2014 (and references therein) Comments: Old formated values: Pathway - Ships; Vector - Unintentional |
Habitat type (?) | Estuary Open coast Ports References (not structured): Andersen Jesper H., Emilie Kallenbach, Mathias Brink Kjeldgaard, Steen W. Knudsen, Wenche Eikrem, Camilla Fagerli, Eivind Oug, Trine Dahle, Jens Thaulow, Janne Gitmark, Anders Hobæk, Norman Green, Martin Hesselsøe, Josianne Støttrup, Jesper Kuhn, Dorte Bekkevold, Lars Magnus Wulf Jacob-sen, Peter Rask Møller, Christian Aakjær Olesen, Henrik Carl, Frank Stuer-Lauridsen. 2020. Wave exposure (?) | Sheltered
Salinity range (?) | Venice system: 4. β-Mesohaline [5-10psu] 5. α-Mesohaline [10-18psu] 6. Polymixohaline [18-30psu] 7. Euhaline [30-40psu] References (not structured): Gollasch et al. 2014 in WGITMO Report 2014 (and references therein) |
|
Temperature range (?) | Min: 2 Max: 22 References (not structured): This is the minimum temperature range, Gollasch et al. 2014 in WGITMO Report 2014 (and references therein). The full temperature tolerance may be wider. Comments: Significant shell growth begins in the Wadden Sea late in a year with minimum water temperatures of 12 - 14°C (Witbaard et al 2013). Growth ceases at about 6°C and confirms that most growth occurs at temperatures above 14°C (Cardoso et al. 2013). The species shows a large annual temperature tolerances, but low winter temperatures seem to limit its development (Essink 1994). |
Zonation / Substratum (?) | Benthic: Sublittoral within photic zone Substratum: Soft (mud to pebbles) |

Reproductive duration (?) | Not entered
Reproductive seasonality (?) | Not entered

Oceanological and Hydrobiological Studies Vol XXXIV, Supplement 1: 137-162. References (not structured): Knudsen 1989 Comments: One of the most common bivalves in the Limfjord and northern Kattegat. |
