Journal Svensk Veterinärtidning, 40 (4): 211-213 Svedäng H (1996) Spridning av simblåsemasken ANGUILLICOLA CRASSUS hos ål i svenska kustvatten. Comments: Anguillicola was not found in 234 and 94 eels from the west and east coasts of Sweden, respectively, examined up to October 1987. Anguillicola was subsequently found in 3 eels from a lot imported from Poland destined for export to Germany. In mid December, a single eel from the Oskarshamn-Loftahammar region of the Swedish east coast was found to be infected. This nematode may be Anguillicola australiensis which has spread widely in Europe. |
