Pre-conference geological field trip
The geological structure and processes on the Baltic Sea coast between Kolkas Rags (Latvia) and Klaipėda (Lithuania) will be the general topic of the field trip. The old terraces of the different Baltic Sea stages and ancient coastal ridges, the present Baltic Sea cliffs with features of glaciotectonics and palaeoseismic dislocations, and also the resent processes of abrasion-accumulation will be the main objects of observation. The participants of the field trip will have possibility to visit Liepaja and Ventspils sea-ports, to get acquainted with museum of erratic boulders in Mosėdis.
Preliminary Schedule of field trip:
Starting point – Klaipeda University campus at 14:00 on August 23, 2013.
First stop in the Riga Airport –August 23, 2013 from 18:00 to 19:00. For participants who are more comfortable to come to Riga (Latvia), could join the field trip in Riga Airport.
Finishing point – August 25, 2013, possibly in late evening in the Klaipėda.
Cost of the field trip – 200 €* (full board with two overnight stay in hotels, meal, transportation, etc.).
*Accommodation before field trip and during Congress and Congress Registration fee are not included to the field trip registration fee
Registration. Participation in the field trip is available only for participants, who will register until 10 March, 2013. This strict request is connected with advance renting of corresponding bus and hotel booking (August is still a holiday season on the Baltic coast!).

Field trip fee payment is available by cash directly before field trip as well by bank transfer. In both cases participants will receive the certificates about payment.
