Comments: The ability of species to rapidly dominate a new habitat may potentially modify the sediment morphology and chemistry and disrupt the natural infaunal communities. This could result in a significant decline in native benthic species in low-salinity estuaries in the North and the Baltic Seas (Bick et al., 2018).
